Reaching every region of the United States, Students for Philosophical Inquiry has received nationwide recognition for creating opportunities for reflection, discourse, and experiential learning in the classroom since 2020.

APA Berry Fund for Public Philosophy

Students for Philosophical Inquiry received an $800, competitive grant from the American Philosophical Association's (APA) Berry Fund for Public Philosophy, supporting its work with teachers in the Greater Boston Area. SPI was the only student-led group to receive support from the APA, the main professional organization for philosophers in the United States.

The University of Alabama

Undergraduates at the Philosophy Club at the University of Alabama passed a resolution to engage in outreach to classrooms in Tuscaloosa, in partnership with Students for Philosophical Inquiry. They plan to present their work at the Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity Conference at the University of Alabama in April 2026.

The Placer Institute

The Placer Institute received a $1,200 grant from the City of Boise's Youth Climate Action Fund, supporting its environmental programming and volunteering. The program also partnered with the JHFLC and IdEEA to bolster its recruiting efforts and to offer live seminar sessions.

Portola High School

SPI’s founder, Ryan Jung, worked with classmates and staff at Portola High School in Irvine, California, to design an introductory philosophy course for juniors and seniors. Piloted in the Fall 2020 semester during the pandemic, it was the first student-created course in Portola High School’s history and received approval from the University of California as an honors social studies elective course.
